I ask this because I would like to know your thought's on having only one FFA map throughout the FFA tourny.
Most if not all of the CGL players play MLG, And a lot of them play Guardian FFA's when they aren't playing MM, 4v4 customs, etc.
So my thoughts are why not have one map to play FFA's on, it would make for easier FFA scrims, easier set up for adam and mark, and it would cut down on time between games and people asking "What map are we playing on?"
If we were to do this my map choice would be guardian because thats the map I play FFA's on 95% of the time.
This is what MLG did with Midship. And everyone played midship FFA's all the time, so players got much better at that map for the events.
It would make for some bad ace competition. Who is best at Guardian FFA?

My fav map is Hybrid for FFA. But I can't say I'm entirely opposed to this. Could go either way and I wouldn't care.

My problem with hybrid is that its to open.
There is a large structure in the middle and a plat all the way around the map, in between that is just open space.

is hybrid is two open... lets think about midship buildings already around the outside and a massive hole in the center with 3 pillars... on hybrid you have two tall sides aka p2 and car 3 an midship you have two bases on hybrid you have two bases granted yes those bases are smaller but the map was made in foundry which is small to begin with Hybrid>Guardain Midship>Guardain Midship>Hybrid but hybrid is the best layout of midship you can have on H3 as of now

First of all, I think it is a great idea.
Secondly, I would rather prefer Guardian over Hybird. Even though Hybird is the closest map so far from becoming Midship there is still a larg difference from the actual gameplay in H2 and H3.

I agree that one map would make this hella easier. I'm not so sure, however, that I agree about hybrid. Sure it might be closer to Midship than other maps, but as sloop said, the gameplay is a great deal different. I myself prefer Guardian for the same reason, the fact that Hybrid is very open. True that's a characteristic of Midship, but I never really preferred Midship either . Even though I will say it was a rather fair level. Guardian FTW!

what's easier about 1 map? explain yourself. do you really need to create strategems for a FFA? do you need to memorize more than what you already have memorized about these maps? does having 4 maps confuse any of you? seriously, break this down for everyone. don't just choose either side only to use it further a point that "Guardian/Midship is awesome." make a point for 1 or several maps, not WHICH map.

Construct-It's mostly a lift camp fest. And now with the radar it's twice as worse. Hybrid-I myself am just not a fan of forged foundry maps, simply, they are just imperfect, and have more "map lag" than real maps. Cold Storage-This is a brand new map and not many people have strat's or what not on it, and it's a little too close quarters for mauler, rockets, sniper if you know what I mean. The Pit-This is just not a good FFA map period, It's much more suitable for team games, It's like two separate maps. Guardian-In my opinion this is the best FFA map in halo 3, everyone plays it, everyone is familiar with it, not too big not too small. I made a Guardian FFA myself and played it with some guys and they all liked it, it had -Random start spawns(No set starting spawns) -No Sniper -No Mauler -No Camo It was a good clean BR map. I think its a bit too late for you guys to change anything now, I guess we will see how things turn out and work from there. 2v2 maps and settings seem to be perfect it's just the FFA portion. Try my map and settings guys. Slot 2&5 www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=Provolown

Every H3 FFA map has its strengths and weaknesses...
While you love Guardian and pin it as the greatest FFA map it is far from being reguarded by everyone as 'The Best FFA map'... Most people play Guardian because it was AT RELEASE the closest thing to an arena map and it favored lockout, one of the most popular maps for H2 FFA.
There are going to be strengths and weaknesses for every map.. What one person may dislike about a map someone else might enjoy for the same reason that others dislike it..
The point im trying to make is Adam has done a good job with the current lineup.. Different people like FFA for different reasons it will be impossible to make everyone happy.
Also, just because your not good at a map does not mean that it does not take skill or is not a good FFA map... Usually in Lonewolves with the wide array of gametypes minus the objective the better player will win 9 out of 10 times.
Im for multiple maps but my favorite Map for FFA has to be Cold Storage not forged up... Just give it MLGish weapons... In my opinion Cold Storage its the closest thing to a well balanced arena map in H3 that there is..
Not that it matters but I bet that with the current maps if MLG were to pick a FFA map it would be Cold Storage for sure. Some might say a Forged map on Foundry. Personally I don't think you can rival a WELL MADE original map with something someone made in Forge.

Cold Storage *Frigid* for FFA has no Rockets, no Sniper, no Mauler... have you downloaded it? up until 2 days ago it had a catwalk with a Sniper on it, but i took that shit down. technically, the Sniper is still there, but the only way to get it is to nade it down. Good luck with that in a FFA.
I could see taking Construct down. You make a good point for that.
The Pit is going to take quite a bit or convincing to get me to take that down. But it can be done.
We've yet to see how Hybrid plays, and System Link will probably not be laggy at all.

Every H3 FFA map has its strengths and weaknesses... Agreed While you love Guardian and pin it as the greatest FFA map it is far from being reguarded by everyone as 'The Best FFA map'... The point im trying to make is Adam has done a good job with the current lineup.. Different people like FFA for different reasons it will be impossible to make everyone happy. Again, agreed, adam has done an amazing job setting this up for us, and he can't suit everybody. Also, just because your not good at a map does not mean that it does not take skill or is not a good FFA map... Usually in Lonewolves with the wide array of gametypes minus the objective the better player will win 9 out of 10 times. I never said I wasn't good at them, I was telling you what WILL/DOES happen, And trust me I suck balls at construct, but I came in first twice on the construct FFA last event.Im for multiple maps but my favorite Map for FFA has to be Cold Storage not forged up... Just give it MLGish weapons... In my opinion Cold Storage its the closest thing to a well balanced arena map in H3 that there is.. My problem with default Cold storage is the teleporters, because the map is so small I accidentally go through them in BR battles, as well as the map is not open enough, It's more of just a series of 1v1 battles which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you play FFAs. But I don't like the forged up Cold storage that bryan made. Not that it matters but I bet that with the current maps if MLG were to pick a FFA map it would be Cold Storage for sure. Some might say a Forged map on Foundry. Personally I don't think you can rival a WELL MADE original map with something someone made in Forge. I'm not so sure about that because again it's not open enough to be a FFA and not a series of 1v1's. But I agree completely about the original map>forged foundry. Which is why I hate hybrid, onslaught, amplified, etc.

guardian is a good map. maybe ijust like it because i did good every time i played it... but its spawns are good and you usually wont get spawn killed. its just the people that camp in certain spots and have their advantage.. ex. snipe2 camping anyone that spawns elbow. and blue room for gold spawning. but hey i like guardian so.... yeah
frigid is new and in my opinion is good. it is open in the middle but i like it because you cant really get spawn raped.
construct sucks.. flat out
pit is way too big and gay i mean come on. good 4v4 but ffa is complete terrible.
hybrid is open but i basically agree with what bman said up there.. hype in my opinion isnt that good. its map layout just isnt persuasive to me..
